UNM Los Alamos EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TRAINING LABORATORIES 

LOS ALAMOS, NM

Safety and compliance concerns coupled with accessibility issues of the Emergency Medical Services Training laboratories for UNM Los Alamos are key factors for this renovation project.  Combining real-life simulation labs of emergency hospital rooms to domestic interiors where EMS students may find their patients, the laboratories are            to simulate the environments where they may find critical in-need patients. The specific HVAC, electrical conditions of these lab rooms are key in creating the ambient relationships for the EMS students. 

Again, the circulatory needs of the professional staff, the students, the equipment are carefully studied in order to create the most effective and dynamic opportunity for EMS study.  Because of the site location of UNM Los Alamos campus, integrating this renovation project into the existing campus drainage system required significant and sensitive reworking of existing drainage by including a new retaining wall between the building and the existing road.
